Fletcher Foale Ltd provides part time Finance Director and/or Corporate Finance Roles to SMEs. We specialise in supporting start-ups, exits, acquisitions, restructuring, fund raising (£8+m in last 5 years), or IPOs. Ongoing we act as outsourced finance/commercial support and/or Finance Director / Company Secretary.
Typical responsibilities are providing financial, commercial, or secretarial support, including, reviewing accounts & systems, budgets & forecasts, preparation of business plans & financial models, investor presentations, deal structuring, due diligence preparation, negotiations & execution of transactions, ongoing investor relationships, and AIM/PLUS listing preparation.
Stephen Foale FCCA :
Hands-on qualified accountant, company secretary and business coach, with significant, start-up, SME & public company, financial reporting, tax management, corporate governance, corporate finance and commercial management experience, including; IPOs, acquisitions, disposals, joint-ventures, capital & debt raising, secretarial, legal, insurance, & property matters and systems implementation. As Finance Director of three listed PLC groups between 1989 -2007, Stephen gained significant experience in general business management, but his particular skills are in financial management, business plan or information memorandum preparation, financial modelling, fund raising, investment readiness, corporate structuring, M&A, exit management and legal and tax aspects of investment and/or exit.
Between 2007 and 2018 he was a business coach, with specific emphasis on corporate structure, investment readiness and access to finance programmes, initially under the SEEDA funded Thames Valley Enterprise Hub scheme, then The Innovation & Growth Scheme and more recently the National Growth Accelerator and Growth Hub Programmes, providing coaching to well over 250 high growth SME’s, acting as Account Manager to some clients, and aiding fellow Account Managers’ clients where specific financial management / fund raising guidance is required. He also presented at a number of Breakfast Briefings and Workshops on understanding financial management, and gave the Financial Management and Control session at the Henley Business School Accelerator Programmes all run by VitalSix Ltd, a business support organisation based at Reading University.
Stephen currently acts as part-time CFO and Company Secretary for a number of private companies, supporting their respective management teams with their planned growth towards profitable exits.
In his role as Chairman of FinanceHeads, a collaboration of 20+ independent qualified accountants, with significant corporate management experience, each operating as part time FDs/CFO, which he co-founded in 2008, he regularly Chair members meetings and provides one to one coaching to new members wishing to switch from a full time finance management role to a Portfolio career.
Carole Fletcher :
Qualified secretary and born organiser. Many years as PA to Managing Directors and Chairman of large quoted groups within the Hotel, Construction, Property Development and Health Sectors. Whilst raising her son she organised numerous charity events, raising over £120,000 for various good causes. Carole continues to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now and Movember.
